Our Keynote Speaker(s):
AM Keynote - Nancy Harvey
Ms. Nancy’s advocacy work began approximately 14 years ago with the Child Care Law Center and Parent Voices.
Shortly after working with these two amazing organizations, Ms. Nancy was approached by an organizer from S.E.I.U. (Service Employee International Union). This organizer encouraged her to join and become a member of SEIU. Since becoming a member of SEIU, Ms. Nancy has stepped into a leadership role, speaking out about the needs of childcare providers. She has had the opportunity to inform countless political leaders on a national, state, and local level about the work that so many providers engage themselves in. She has also advocated for successful legislative efforts on behalf of childcare providers, such as Alameda County’s 2020 Measure C.
PM Closing Keynote - Patricia Moran
Patricia has been a resilient leader and relentless advocate for Family Child Care Home providers in Santa Clara County. She runs her own large Family Child Care, Patricia's Creative Learning Center in San Jose. Her advocacy has helped shine a light on the needs of providers. She is deeply involved in the grassroots organizing of CCPU (California Childcare Providers Union) and has lobbied at the local and state level for big wins this year. She serves on the Health Fund Committee at the state level to help ensure providers have equitable access to health services like support with medical costs, co-pays, and more. For many years, Patricia has worked to build power for providers, emboldening them to step into organizing, planning, and mobilizing to earn hard-fought rights. This work has ensured that Family Child Care educators can continue to provide their essential service to children and families in Santa Clara County.
