QUALITY MATTERS…a STRONG START for kids works to ensure equitable access to professional development opportunities to early childhood educators in Santa Clara County. We bring together groups of invested stakeholders in our three consortium groups: Executive Cabinet, Center-Based Administrators, and Family Child Care Home Educators. The Early Childhood Education Workforce Registry is a great resource to access a wide variety of early learning trainings across the county and beyond. Educators can also align their profiles with professional development requirements for the QUALITY MATTERS stipend program or their reporting for their QRIS rating matrix assessment.
Santa Clara County 2023 Child Care Needs Assessment
The purpose of this report is to provide a compilation of data in accordance with the requirement by the California Department of Social Service to conduct a needs assessment of early education and before- and after-school programs every five years. These data points describe key indicators of early care and education in Santa Clara County, which will serve to assist with planning and implementing programs and initiatives to serve children between the ages of 0-12 years in the community.
Santa Clara County Early Learning Master Plan, Mid-Implementation Review
This mid-implementation review was conducted as a comprehensive effort to forecast opportunities and challenges created by significant changes in the Santa Clara County.
ECE landscape that has occurred since 2017, alongside disruptions brought about by the ongoing COVID-1 pandemic. For each goal area, recommendations for steps to achieve the goals identified in the 2017 ELMP, including areas for advocacy, re-prioritization or other adjustments to the ELMP goals, and suggested activities to maximize new opportunities, are provided.
Santa Clara County Child Care Average Tuition Rate Survey 2023
The purpose of the survey is to understand the market rate of prices charged in Santa Clara County for private-pay families whose children do not receive Federal or State government subsidies.
Universal PreKindergarten (UPK)
Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) is the expansion of the state’s mixed delivery system to meet the early education needs of 3 and 4-year-old children and their families. UPK brings more choices for preschool, including Transitional Kindergarten which will be available to all 4-year-olds by 2025-2026.
