Recruitment Efforts for Family Child Care Home Early Educators
The following programs are recruiting early educators teaching in Family Child Care Homes. If you’re interested in participating in these opportunities, please follow the directions specified on each of the flyers.
Apprenticeship
Santa Clara County’s Apprenticeship effort is equity-oriented, focusing on bringing people into the field of early learning and care. Components of the Early Learning Apprenticeship program include paid on-the-job training with local preschool and family child care employers, no-cost college coursework and embedded coaching, and cohort learning in a community-based location. The two-year program culminates in a wage increase, along with the achievement of an Associate Teacher permit (the credential equivalent in the early learning and care profession).
Santa Clara County Family Child Care Network
Shared Services Alliance
The mission of the Shared Services Alliance is to help Family Child Care Home providers to build a sustainable business, increase revenue, and eliminate business struggles that keep them from growing. The Shared Services Alliance is an administrative structure that enables services at scale. The FCCH Network will house the Shared Services Alliance effort and act as a hub of support and connection for FCC providers. We are looking for providers to be part of the Design Team.
myTeachstone
myTeachstone is an online professional development program designed to improve the quality of teacher-child interactions through the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Tool. Early educators can complete requirements virtually (21 hours of PD, CLASS training, and Zoom/TA Workshop)
TK Equity Initiative
Do you want to become a TK teacher and work for a school district? We are recruiting early educators who are interested in participating in a Credential Cohort Program that prepares individuals to teach in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms. The Cohort Program is planned to begin in the Fall of 2023. Please join our mailing list!
