This is a list of approved, self-paced trainings for those who chose to complete 21 hours independently for the Training Option. If you wish to have a training approved, please complete this form.

 
 

Early Childhood Investigations Webinars

Earn a certificate by attending in real time or viewing a recording.

 
 

Helping Parents to Feed Well so Children Can Eat Well

2 hours. Self-paced. *Do not need account. Training hours are automatically entered into the Workforce Registry.

California Early Childhood Online (CECO)

Up to 40 hours offered. Self-paced. Note: Mandated Reporter training in CECO will not count toward a stipend. *CECO trainings are automatically imported into your Registry account and you do not need to upload CECO training certificates.

The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework

7 modules (13 hours) Self-paced.

Earn a certificate by attending in real time or viewing an edWebinar. Must be ECE related edwebinars.

Any Quality Matters, consortium meetings, orientations, or workshop hosted by WestEd E3 Institute or FIRST 5 Santa Clara County will also be accepted for the 21 hours of training for both rating and stipend program. In addition Santa Clara County Local Early Education Planning Council meetings are also accepted. Currently, FIRST 5 Santa Clara County Community of Practice meeting hours are doubled for QUALITY MATTERS rating and the stipend program.

Early Childhood Conferences that are conducted by nationally and regionally recognized early childhood organizations or training groups such as:

  • FIRST 5 Infant Conference

  • National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

  • Reggio Emilia Alliance

  • Zero to Three

  • Peninsula Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC)

  • California Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC)

  • Painting the Future Conference – Pacific Oaks College

  • Inclusion Collaborative State Conference – Santa Clara County Office of Education

To earn a stipend for the Training option, you must:

  • Complete 21 hours of approved trainings.

  • Upload your certificates into your CA Registry Account at www.caregistry.org Please allow 6-8 weeks for them to verify. Important! You do not have to do this step if you enroll using the registration link from the CA Registry as it is automatic.

Note that college coursework that does not meet the coursework option may be used to satisfy the 21-hour requirement. Hours are calculated using the following conversion: 1 semester unit = 15 hours; 1 quarter unit = 10 hours.
